FRANCIS ACQUAH (PRESIDENT)
Francis Acquah has over 30 years experience as a Psychiatric Nurse across public and private health care settings. Francis a Fellow of the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses awarded by the Australian College of mental Health Nurses.
Francis is a Multi award winner – Living legend Award 2013 from Celebration of African Australian National Awards 2013; Meritorious Service Award Excellence in Multicultural Affairs 2013; Fellow of the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses; Community Leader Award African Media Awards 2014; and Australia day Award 2015.
In 2015 Francis was recognised by his peers and was awarded the AUSTRALIA Mental Health Nurse Achievement Award.
Francis is a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse accredited by the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses and the Clinical Director of Positive Mental Health Program that provides mental health support, counselling, psychosocial rehabilitation and reintegration into society. Current practice includes working with in the Youth Justice Service in Melbourne, Australia.
Francis has explored Trans-cultural Psychiatry and provided psycho-cultural counselling and has been a strong advocate for refugees and immigrants especially within the African community. He is a Mental Health First Aid instructor and has used his mental health nursing experiences to educate the community about mental health and the reduction of stigma.
Francis has presented as National and International conferences including UK, Finland, Ghana and Dubai, UAE.
Francis is an Assistant Governor in Rotary International District 9790 and the President and Founding member of the Mental Health and Well-being Foundation a charity organisation based in Australia and Ghana. >>>Borad of Directors
